How do Ratings Work?
- When a swap is complete it is time to rate the other user. Ratings are important because they help give other swappers an idea of how reliable a user is, and the more accurate the ratings, the easier it will be to find users you can trust to swap with.
- Every user with at least one rating also has an overall rating percentage that can be seen on the View Item page or in the user's profile. This rating percentage is calculated based on the number of positive, neutral and negative ratings the user has been given, the number of packages they have sent that haven't reached their destination and on the number of times they have cancelled an already accepted swap agreement.
- Try to keep the overall swap experience in mind when rating another user. If you are unhappy about something, start by contacting the other user before completing your rating of that user. Most problems can be worked out through communication and you will find that the vast majority of users are reasonable people. For example, a lost package need not necessarily result in a negative rating if the other user agrees to make it up to you.
- During the swap rating process you will be asked to consider if the swap was a positive, neutral or a negative experience. You will also be asked to check off whether you received the package or not. If you did not receive the agreed upon package, you can choose to either check that option off or indicate that the other user made the loss up to you. This last option does not reflect negatively on the other user, but is meant to give an indication of postal efficiency to or in their part of the world. Finally you will be asked to leave a comment, which all other users will then be able to see when viewing the other user's ratings page.
- Maintaining a swap rating of 100% requires:
- 100% positive ratings on completed swaps.
- Ensuring that all your packages reached their destinations or to have made up for lost packages.
- Never having cancelled a swap that has already been accepted.
